My name is Estrella, and I’m excited to welcome you to my little space of the internet. I’m a scientist, writer, and first-generation college graduate from Southern California. I’m also the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, a cat mom, a wife, and I’ve always been driven by my curiosity and a love of science.
From community college to earning my B.S. in General Biology at California State University Channel Islands, to working in biotech companies, and eventually completing my M.S. in Biomolecular Engineering and Bioinformatics at University of California Santa Cruz — science has shaped my journey at every step. Along the way, I’ve built a career rooted in curiosity, problem-solving, and a passion for making science accessible.
